This is one yarn that's nearly impossible to appreciate and select through mail-order or website! Come to The Grove to touch and admire your own one-of-a-kind, multicolored hanks of vibrant silk handspun from the discarded silk threads of sarong & scarf fringe. This is the authentic smooth, supple, pure silk yarn, not the el cheapo coarse knock-offs imported from overseas sweatshops.

Every milimeter of this luxury yarn has passed through the fingertips of a woman in Nepal who once had no better opportunity to provide for herself or her children.
Mango Moon's founder, Amana Nova, discovered ways to recycle the discarded silk, viscose and other natural fibers from the textile industry into irresistible hand-knitting yarns. She established cooperatives in Nepal and Indonesia which provide safe shelter, health care, and education to women who learn to dye and spin yarns to support themselves and to escape the cycle of abuse and poverty.
